Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all!  I looked back at my last post and realized it was in October.....oops!  I guess that last few months got away from us!  It's always hectic over the holidays.....if anyone really knows me, they know just how much I love December.  I am always sad to see it go.  There's just something magical about it...I cherish all the sounds of Christmas music and the warm and Holy feeling as we anticipate the birth of the Christ Child!  I'm always saddened as people throw their trees out the door the day after or take down the lights.  We are still in the Christmas season for a number of days yet!  (although many don't think about it) Here's a little history some of you may not know but Christmas is celebrated from the 25th until January 6th which is Epiphany.  Epiphany typically celebrates the day in which the wise men presented their gifts to the Christ child....in fact some people don't open their gifts until this day.  So therefore the season lasts for 12 days - remember the song the 12 days of Christmas?  Well, maybe here's something else you didn't know:

  • 1 patridge in a pear tree = Jesus Christ, the Son of God
  • 2 turtledoves = the Old and New Testaments
  • 3 French hens = the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity
  • 4 calling birds = the four gospels and/or the four evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John)
  • 5 golden rings = the first five books of the Old Testament
  • 6 geese a-laying = the six days of creation
  • 7 swans a-swimming = the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and/or the seven sacraments
  • 8 maids a-milking = the Eight Beatitudes
  • 9 ladies dancing = the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit
  • 10 lords a-leaping = the Ten Commandments
  • 11 pipers piping = the 11 faithful disciples (minus Judas, who betrayed Christ)
  • 12 drummers drumming = the 12 points of doctrine in the Apostles' Creed

  • So maybe now I've convinced you to leave your tree up a few more days? :)  Jude loved the season....I'm still wondering if I'll be allowed to take the trees down!  (he is definitely my kid when it comes to the trees and lights!)  So, I guess I'll move on to the pictures but I'm warning you now, there's quite a few! Afterall, it's been since October.....just making sure I warn you now.  No complaining if you choose to continue on...haha!

My sweet friend Kala came over to our other property to take some family pictures of us....here's just a few!
This was one of my favorites of the kiddos....such a great shot!

Love how Camilla's boot is lying in the middle of the sidewalk....lol

Hey there's a smile from Jude! lol

And there's a smile if you ever saw one....how about those teeth!

    Good times!

Milla was such a little poser....

The funniest thing about this was Jude kissed Camilla all on his own....

    my love....

Love how Kala captured the grass and leaves here.....so pretty....

Jude loves when we lift him up !!

                                                                  What an expression!
    Pretty Camilla in her fur....haha!
Time for a little pumpkin carving...underwear on? check.  Safety goggles? check.  (of course they don't have to be over the eyes apparently....it's all for effect I guess! lol)

Milla looks pretty excited....Jude was busy preparing pumpkin seed soup! yum!

    Here's a kiss from Milla!

Someone's getting very excited......I know she wanted to fling all those insides out of that pumpkin.....
Truck-or Treat Night!  lol.  After some different attempts, I finally was able to pull off my truck design.  Jude wanted to be a trucker so I figured we could make it fun!  He had very special cargo to deliver!
Looks like she is ready to be transported!
Hopefully his CDL is valid.....not too sure how his driving is.....

I kept telling Jude that he was NOT able to turn four.  He wasn't too happy about that.  I guess I had no choice but to give in.  After all how could I say no to that cute face?  So we went down by the railroad tracks to grab a few pics...

Someone was a little too excited to turn four!

Can you find the hidden "4" in the picture?

Can someone please tell me how four years have passed us by?????

Jude thought maybe I was kicking him out.....why else would we bring this old suitcase to the photo shoot? lol

    Thanksgiving Day with Aunt Holli....

It was such a beautiful day to capture some pics of the kids with their cousin Eve that lives in Michigan....They are so cute together!

    Cutie walking the wall!

    "Cheese Mom"

This is life..."Jude what did you get all over yourself?" haha

Many of you know my Mother in law is not well, but there are still times Camilla can bring a smile to her face.....

    Great grand pap

Nana, Milla and Punkin (the dog)

    Camilla and her great grandma

Camilla's great great Aunt Mary helping Milla out with her dinner....

    Apparently someone's a little chilly......

Punkin is really eyeing up that bread.....

    Enjoying his bread with pappy....

Let's check if Jude's muscles still exist

We celebrated Jude's birthday for a second time with some family and an ice
                                   cream cake!
    Pappy and Milla

Jude's gift ....his first big boy bike with training wheels (and it looks like a dirt bike!)

Sitting my heater vent....a little Marilyn Monroe look going on...she just needed a skit on and it would have been perfect! lol

We made some gingerbread houses (well graham cracker houses) - everyone had fun but Jude really enjoyed it!

Making his licorice sidewalk.....all his own idea!  (and yes, he hates wearing shirts if you haven't noticed) lol.

He even made a marshmallow snowman!

    Decorating the Christmas tree.....

    Helping daddy....

Took the kids downtown to see the tree and the little village houses.....they loved seeing the tree and watching the lights change with the music!

    Stylin...

    Such a sweetie...

Taking pictures for the Christmas card....the jingle bells kept them both in one spot for a little while!!!

One of my friends said this pic looks like an advertisement....maybe I can contact Potterybarn and see if they want it. hahaha!

    Just love these two....

    He loves his sister!

Slowly starting to lose it now....I've exhausted them!

And we've officially maxed out....Jude apparently sees no Joy in this anymore!

We took the kids on a Santa train ride - they had a good time!

Nothing like a little popcorn for the trip!

    Clutching her ticket....lol.

Hey it's Santa! Jude loved Santa this year....Camilla not so much.....she started crying when Santa tried to pick her up here!

Sugar cookie baking!  One of Jude's favorites!

    Decorating cookies is serious work!!!!

Had to get Camilla started young....she did a pretty good job with the concept of it, but her finish was the best....she just picked it up and ate it.  Now that's a smart girl! Good thing Jude and I didn't let her decorate all of them!

A little pose in her dress with Aunt Ester....Milla was ready for Mass on Christmas Eve!

Not so ready for my flash!  lol

Jude wasn't in the mood for pictures.....does it show just a little?  I know you can't always get that perfect shot of everyone haha!

                                 Our church.....so lovely....

In her pajamas and hanging with cousin Eve....

    Sparkle, Spice and everything Nice!

Santa came and left them  a note!!!

Christmas Morning!!!! (Jude almost forgot it was and had to be reminded! lol.)

                                                    One of my favorites......

Jude's first gift was toilet paper..a  little ongoing joke between us.   And he just happened to grab it first...he laughed and tossed it aside!!

Milla's a little curious why he got toilet paper....

Milla didn't want to open any gifts but she really enjoyed clean up!

    Dr. Jude ..lol

And their kitchen that Santa brought them....Milla was already trying to see how the faucet worked!

    Something about that smile....

Already eating a cookie before lunch....

    Drinking his wine.....I mean tea....lol

    cheers!

A little quick present opening before heading home....Eve got her the cutest headband (notice the tag is still on)....it matched perfectly!

The most important person of the day......baby Jesus.....rejoice in His birth!  We've started putting hay on our table at Christmas meal to remind ourselves of that beautiful event that took place....

Remember Uncle J came home....hoping to get some pics of him with the kids before he heads back....he was pretty exhausted being off his schedule in Qatar. Good to have him home for the holidays...He surprised Jude by going to pick him up with me at school.  I wish I would have had a video camera on that reunion!  Almost had Jude's teacher in tears too....

This little one fell asleep eating her roll in her  high chair....just had to recline the chair and she was out!

The first gift Milla really opened....now's she getting onto how to do it!

    Food for their kitchen....

And a little someone discovered she could go behind and play peek a boo!

Oh and I forgot to show you some other pics from our photographer.....family pics but also an announcement was in place....don't the kids looked shocked!? lol.  priceless.....

Yep, you guessed....another V is coming May 20th...God willing.  So far so good.....20 weeks in, 20 left to go! God has blessed us....for someone who thought we never would have kids, God proved us wrong.  Faith....(and maybe a little patience).....couldn't imagine life without these two!  I asked Jude if he wanted another baby and he said "I already have my Milla".  Then another day he asked me how the baby got in there and I said, what do you think?  He said "because of all the food you eat!".  (well, that's not entirely false....the food does contribute to the size of my belly) haha.  Jude thinks it's a baby boy....we shall see!  Either way, boy or girl....this child is a gift from above and we are excited to receive yet another one into our family! If I thought life could get a little crazy now, I should wait for May....lol!  Now Aaron has a little more drive to finish our other house.  Most likely we will move there next fall and sell this house....it's hard to imagine not being here but it's not the walls that make it a home...it's who's in it...excited to see how it turns out!  Well, I've succeeded in my New Years resolution...finish a blog post.  Hopefully you'll get a few more in 2016...:)  Blessings from our home to yours.....
